Dang. Tulsipur Sub-metropolis-19, Chillikot in Dang district, has bloomed in September. The plum planted at the house of local Purna Bahadur Pun has started blooming since September 30.

Prabir Pun, a local, said that although the flowers used to bloom in the month of February/March in the past, this year they are surprised as the flowers have started blooming in September. “In the past, flowers used to bloom in February÷March. This year, it has started blooming in September,” he said.

There are palm trees in almost every house here. Among them, the flowers planted by Pun have started to bloom. Last year too, Kafal was cooked in Chillikot in December. Botanist Khemraj Sharma said that the premature blooming is an effect of climate change. “When temperatures are high, it can bloom prematurely. Nowadays, every plant has a similar problem,” he said.
