Kathmandu. Industrialists who have taken electricity supply from dedicated feeder and truck line Biwa have collectively drawn the attention of Prime Minister Sushila Karki. The industrialists have drawn attention by writing a letter.
The industrialists have said that they cannot operate their industries in the current situation after being humiliated by the state bodies. “We have made this collective request to be honorable as the Prime Minister of the government of good governance to ensure the environment of living with dignity and doing business as per the constitution. “In the status quo, the industry cannot be operated without being humiliated by the state body,” the letter reads.
Industrialists have claimed that they have never agreed with the government to waive the tariff. They have said that they are ready to pay whatever amount is required if they provide proof that electricity has been provided for the operation of the industry. “We are ready to pay the liability of Rs 4, 6, 8, 10, 20 and 40 billion on the proof that electricity has been provided to us for the operation of the industry,” reads the letter.
They have also demanded to immediately stop the activities of the industrialists by sending a notice letter threatening to cut off electricity from the body owned by the government despite having other options. The industrialists have accused the government of playing with the sentiments of the citizens by creating a false narrative that electricity has been provided to the industry by cutting off the electricity of the common people.
The NEA’s information on various dates and the NEA’s annual report clearly mention that load shedding is being carried out in industries to provide electricity to the general public.
“We have submitted copies of the information and report so that the study should be conducted with any agency, domestic or foreign. If there is a difference in the statement written in it, we should not be relieved only by giving the said amount and we should be punished as per the prevailing law,” the letter reads.
