Kathmandu. According to the Nepal Army, 1,580 government, private and business buildings across the country were vandalized and torched during the Genji demonstrations on September 7 and 24.
Nepal Army gave this information at a press conference organized at the Nepali Army Headquarters on Friday. “During that time, demonstrations were held at 484 places across the country. “A total of 76 people were killed in the protest,” said Brigadier General Manoj Thapa, Director of the Nepal Army’s Military Operations Directorate. ’
According to Thapa, 688 government offices, 259 private buildings, 128 business establishments, 198 political party party offices and 307 police offices were vandalized and torched during the demonstration.
He said 22 protesters, three policemen, 10 inmates and 41 others were killed in the protests. According to him, 15,588 inmates escaped from prisons across the country during the Genji protests.
According to War Director Thapa, 978 arms and ammunition belonging to the security forces were lost and looted during the Genji demonstration. Of them, 586 arms and ammunition were confiscated.
