Kathmandu. A massive fire broke out at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, on Saturday.
Flights have been affected after a fire broke out at the cargo terminal of the airport. All flights have been suspended due to black smoke from the fire.
Bangladesh Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) officials said the fire was almost under control. According to Bangladesh’s media Daily Star, 35 units of firefighters worked to douse the fire.
“All flights and landings have been suspended until the situation is brought under control,” the CAAN said in a statement.
This is the third major fire in Bangladesh in recent days. On Tuesday, a fire broke out at a four-storey garment factory and chemical warehouse in Dhaka, killing 16 workers and injuring several others.
