Tender for import of 4,71,000 metric tonnes of chemical fertilizers

Kathmandu. The government had set a target of importing 600,000 metric tonnes of chemical fertiliser for the current fiscal year and tenders worth 471,300 metric tonnes have been called so far.

The government has made it clear that the government has made necessary arrangements as per the goal of providing chemical fertilizers to the farmers in an easy manner. The government has allocated Rs 28.82 billion for the import of chemical fertilizers.

According to the data provided by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, 194,085 metric tonnes of fertilizer is in the process of being supplied till mid-October. Of this, 33,338 metric tonnes of urea from Agriculture Inputs Company and 57,670 metric tonnes from Salt Trading Corporation (STC). The Agriculture Inputs Company has supplied a total of 115,405 metric tonnes of urea and DAP while the Salt Trading Corporation has supplied 78,680 metric tonnes of fertiliser.

According to the Ministry, there is currently 108,908 metric tonnes of fertiliser in stock. The Agriculture Inputs Company has 63,800 metric tonnes of DAP and Urea and Potash in stock while the Salt Trading Corporation has 45,108 metric tonnes of chemical fertilizers in stock.

According to the ministry, there is sufficient stock of chemical fertilizers for winter farming. According to the ministry, 132,807 metric tonnes of fertiliser was sold from mid-July to mid-October.
