The night of Kartik Krishna Aunsi is also known as Sukhratri. For Laxmi Puja, the path is shown from the courtyard to the main door of the house and the place of worship is made with cow dung and red clay and the steps of Lakshmi are made with rice flour and abir. After Deepawali, Lakshmi is worshiped in the puja room with lamps, kalash and Ganesh and jewelry, money, rice, fruits, selroti and garlands are offered to Goddess Lakshmi. After Lakshmi Puja, it is customary to worship girls and girls as a symbol of Lakshmi. There is a religious belief that after worshipping Lakshmi in the house today, if wealth or other items are sent out of the house, Lakshmi will go out.

Prof Dr Devmani Bhattarai, a religious scholar and member of Nepal Calendar Determination Development Committee, said that there is a scriptural tradition when the women of the house perform the Laxmi Puja in the evening at midnight and wish for the arrival of Laxmi and wealth.

This evening, the girls form a group and play Bhailo in the house. The festival is celebrated in remembrance of Lord Vishnu who was blessed to rule the three worlds of heaven, death and the underworld for the five days of Yamapanchak. He also said that the word ‘good’ has been corrupted over time and has become ‘Bhailo’.

Today, those who come to play Bhailo are given rice, rice, garlands, money and selroti. There is a religious belief that the donation given to those who come to play Bhailo is not good if it is not given and if it is given, it will be virtuous.

On the occasion of Laxmi Puja, Diwali is celebrated in the city market. According to the family tradition, it is also customary to worship the cow this morning. According to the scriptures, it is said that after the new moon, the cow should be worshiped only after the first day of Kartik Shukla Pratipada.
