Kailali. Sudurpaschim Province Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah has asserted that the traders would be brought to book if they did not follow the support price of paddy determined by the government.
He directed the Chief District Officer of Kailali to monitor whether the farmers have not received the support price of paddy determined by the government÷ after receiving complaints from the farmers that they were not getting the support price for paddy determined by the government. He contacted Chief District Officer Krishna Prasad Lamsal over telephone and directed him to carry out monitoring of the situation.
He also directed the traders to take action if they were found not implementing the support price set by the government. The Chief Minister stressed that the farmers should get the price of paddy determined by the government. Earlier, Chief District Officer Krishna Prasad Lamsal had announced that the price of coarse paddy was fixed at Rs 3,463.81 per quintal and medium paddy at Rs 3,628.33 per quintal.
He also urged all the local levels to purchase and sell paddy at the support price fixed by the government and implement the government’s decision. Chief District Officer Lamsal said that he would monitor all the local levels of Kailali immediately after the Chhath.
