Kathmandu. The CPN-UML has started renovating its central office in Lalitpur, Chyasal, Lalitpur. More than Rs 10 crore has been damaged in the fire at the office.
After the CPN-UML central office was vandalized and set on fire during the demonstration on September 24, the party secretary Dr. Bhishma Adhikari informed. He said that the roof and walls of the building damaged by the vandalism and fire have been repaired and the work of painting has begun.
The engineer submitted the report said that the building of the party office where the vandalism and arson was damaged could be retrofitted and replaced. The party office has been operating temporarily by setting up tents on the premises of the party office since October 22 as the office building was not available following the arson and vandalism.
Sixty-four party offices, including the CPN-UML central office, were vandalized and over 158 leaders and cadres were damaged during the agitation.
