750 people rescued from Tilicho Base Camp

Kathmandu. A joint team of Nepal Army, Armed Police Force and Nepal Police rescued people trapped in snowfall in mountainous districts.

Armed Police Force (APF) Joint Spokesperson Shailendra Thapa said that 750 people stranded at Tilicho Base Camp in Manang due to snowfall since last night were rescued and brought to Khangsar of Disyang rural municipality-9.

The other 50 have been kept safely at Tilicho Base Camp. According to him, arrangements have been made for the tourists visiting Manang to return safely as they are facing problems in staying at Khangsar.

Meanwhile, the Armed Police Force (APF) has taken Birendra Rasaili, 45, of Kathmandu metropolis-31 who fell unconscious after he fell unconscious while returning from Tilicho Lake to Humde Health Post from Khangsar.

Rescue of people caught in snowfall has become easier with the establishment of the Armed Police Force’s Mountain Rescue Training Academy and also conducting high-altitude search and rescue training.
