Mustang. Vehicular movement has been obstructed along the Charang-Lomanthang road section due to heavy snowfall since Wednesday morning.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Tshering Kippa Lama said vehicular movement has been affected due to snowfall on the five-kilometer road from Thurlungphant to Lomanthang, where the Nepal Army barrack is located. “Traffic has been obstructed along the Charang-Lomanthang road section as eight inches of snow has accumulated”, said Lama.
Security personnel from the Armed Police Force Border Outpost BOP at Lomanthang-2, Nhechung cleared the snow accumulated along the Chhoser-Korala road section on Tuesday. Similarly, the Kagbeni-Muktinath road, which was difficult due to snowfall, has been reopened for now.
The hills from Upper Mustang to Lower Mustang have been covered with snow due to snowfall throughout the day on Tuesday. Heavy snowfall occurred from Ghami to Korala and Muktinath areas of Upper Mustang on Tuesday. Normal life has been affected due to heavy snowfall.
