Army rescues 1500 people trapped in snow

Kathmandu. The Nepal Army (NA) has rescued around 1500 people, including more than 200 foreign tourists, stranded in various places of Manang district due to snowfall.

A rescue team deputed from the Army’s New Bhairavidal Company carried out the rescue operation with the help of local administration, people’s representatives, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force.

Around 750 people stranded at Tilicho Base Camp in Manang due to snowfall since Monday night have been rescued.

The army said it was assisting in evacuating the evacuees to safer places.
