Paddy starts rotting in the fields due to incessant rains

Bhojpur. The incessant rainfall has affected the hard work and sweat of farmers in Bhojpur throughout the year. The farmers are facing financial and mental crisis after the paddy harvested for storage started rotting in the fields. Farmers are worried as the unharvested paddy has also fallen.

Rajan Dhakal, a farmer of Pauwadung-2, said that the rain has caused a huge loss to the farmers. According to him, farmers are facing problem due to incessant rainfall in the main season of paddy harvesting.

“There has been continuous rainfall in the main paddy harvesting season,” he said. Unharvested paddy has also been destroyed. If this situation continues, it will be difficult to feed the family. According to Dhakal, not only paddy but also the stubble used for livestock is getting spoiled due to the rainy season.

Rup Narayan Phuyal, a local farmer, said that the rainy season has wiped out the hard work of the farmers. According to him, the farmers have been facing a lot of pain after the damage to the paddy which was in the state of storage. “We sweated all year,” he said, adding, “But the untimely rain ruined everything in a few days.” Paddy has started rotting in the fields. Both production and quality are suffering. ’

According to farmers, it is not possible to dry paddy due to incessant rain, cold and lack of sunshine.
