Kathmandu. Vehicles carrying garbage from Kathmandu have been stranded on the way due to obstruction at the Bancharedanda landfill site. Attempts have been made to hold talks with the locals, but no solution has been found.

Issuing a notice, KMC’s Department of Environment Management urged the public to keep the waste from their homes, shops and businesses safely at home until further arrangement.

Locals of the affected areas of Bancharedanda Landfill Site have been obstructing the disposal of waste, citing that the KMC and the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) have not fully implemented the agreement reached in recent period.
