Kathmandu. KATHMANDU — Prime Minister Sushila Karki has said support and cooperation from all quarters is necessary to make the elections scheduled for March 4 a success. According to the PM’s Secretariat, the Prime Minister held discussions with editors of various media at his official residence in Baluwatar on the country’s contemporary political issues, election preparations and government’s performances.
On the occasion, Prime Minister Karki said maximum efforts were underway from the government to create environment conducive for the election and the environment was gradually being created.
Prime Minister Karki said he was determined to make the election successful by taking all into confidence and leave the new government by handing over the responsibility to the new government. Stating that the main objective of the government was to maintain good governance and hold the elections, the PM said that the government would hand over power after holding the elections on February 21 by enthusiastically participating in the elections and not by negating the political parties. Prime Minister Karki made it clear that she took the leadership of the government in difficult circumstances and was not afraid of criticism.
The meeting was also attended by Minister for Finance Rameshwor Khanal, Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Kulman Ghising, Minister for Home Affairs Om Prakash Aryal, Minister for Law Anil Kumar Sinha and Minister for Communications and Information Technology Jagdish Kharel.
