Kathmandu. A total of 4,597 incidents of natural disasters have been recorded across the country till November 30 this year. As many as 335 people have lost their lives in these disasters since April till Saturday.
Spokesperson of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA), Shanti Mahat, said that 41 people have gone missing while 1,264 people have been injured in the flood. Of the 316 incidents of floods, 37 people lost their lives and 27 went missing. Similarly, 67 people died in 550 incidents of landslides and four went missing, 44 died in 356 incidents of lightning and 92 people lost their lives in 538 incidents of snakebite.
Similarly, 25 people were killed in 269 incidents of animal attack, one went missing. Seven people lost their lives in 420 incidents of heavy rain, 26 in 1,614 incidents of fire and eight in 286 incidents of storm.
According to the NRA, nine people have gone missing in the avalanche. On Saturday alone, two people lost their lives in separate disasters. According to the NRA, 46 incidents related to the disaster have been reported and 31 districts have been affected by the disaster.
