Kathmandu. Vehicles carrying garbage, which have not been able to go to the Bancharedanda landfill site for the past four days due to obstruction by the locals, have started moving towards the landfill site as soon as an agreement was reached.

According to Minister Ghising’s secretariat, the vehicles are being transported to the landfill site after Minister for Urban Development Kulman Ghising pledged to implement the agreements reached with the locals today.

They had obstructed the disposal of garbage with an intention to exert pressure on the local government to not implement the agreements made time and again. Most of the houses in Kathmandu have been surrounded by garbage due to obstruction of disposal of garbage for four days.
