Vehicles worth Rs 8.70 billion entered Nepal via Birgunj border point in three months

Birgunj. Vehicles worth Rs 8.7 billion have entered Nepal via Birgunj border point in the first three months of the current fiscal year. According to the Birgunj Customs Office, revenue of Rs 7.77 billion has been collected from the import of vehicles in the first three months of the current fiscal year.

Chief Customs Administrator of Birgunj Customs Office, Bishnu Prasad Gyawali, said that the import of vehicles and revenue have increased in the first three months of the current fiscal year.

Vehicles worth Rs 6.19 billion were imported in the first three months of the last fiscal year. In the first three months of the last fiscal year, Rs 5.95 billion revenue was collected from import of vehicles.

A total of 24,939 unassembled motorcycles worth Rs 3.41 billion were imported in the first three months of the current fiscal year. Revenue of Rs 3.28 billion has been collected from the import of these unassembled motorcycles.

Similarly, in the first three months of the last fiscal year, 19,489 unassembled motorcycles worth Rs 2.49 billion were imported. In the first three months of the current fiscal year, 330 jeeps, cars and vans worth Rs 62.24 crore were imported.

Revenue of Rs 1.75 billion has been collected from the import of these vehicles. In the first three months of the last fiscal year, 432 jeeps, cars and vans worth Rs 765.8 million were imported. Revenue of Rs 1.96 billion was collected from the import of vehicles in the same period of the current fiscal year.

In the first three months of the current fiscal year, 229 electric jeeps, cars and vans worth Rs 680.5 million have been imported through Birgunj checkpoint. Revenue of Rs 45.72 billion has been collected from the import of electric jeeps, cars and vans.

In the first three months of the last fiscal year, 97 electric jeeps, cars and vans worth Rs 144.9 million were imported through Birgunj checkpoint. In the review period, only Rs 91.1 million was collected from the import of electric vehicles.
