Birgunj. Various organisations have donated electronic equipment and furniture to Birgunj Metropolitan City, which was damaged during the Genji agitation on September 7 and 24.
As a part of its social responsibility, NPL Social Welfare Organisation today provided seven desktop computers and three printers. Director of the organization, Arbind Amatya, handed over the equipments to the KMC at the Birgunj-based KMC Office.
Likewise, the Britannia Nepal Pvt Ltd of the private sector has also handed over 20 chairs to the metropolis today itself. Earlier, Surya Nepal Pvt Ltd had provided laptop, computer and printer while the Association of Pharmaceutical Producers, Birgunj had provided computers and printers.
According to KMC, the support received has made it easier to operate the office and boosted the morale of the employees. On the occasion, Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Rajesh Man Singh expressed gratitude to all organizations and the entrepreneurs’ community for their support and cooperation in the difficult times.
“The burning of the property of the metropolis means the destruction of the property of the city residents. It is a motif for all of us to extend a helping hand in such difficult times. This has inspired the metropolis to rise again,” he said.
