Kathmandu. The Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) working committee led by Mahesh Kumar Shrestha has endorsed the roadmap for the unification of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA).
The OB meeting held on Sunday night. The meeting endorsed a 9-point proposal to be presented to Badri KC for consensus. In the meeting chaired by Shrestha, General Secretary Baburam Lama presented the proposal. The meeting has given the responsibility of implementing the spirit of the 9-point agreement to Chairman Shrestha.
The agreement draft states that the Association would be consolidated as an independent, autonomous, non-political, social and charitable organization as per its main spirit. Dr. Shrestha Resolving past disputes within the Association through dialogue, collaboration and consensus with the group led by Dr. Badri KC and prioritizing transparency, credibility and institutional stability

They have expressed their commitment in the meeting.
“NRNA is not an organization of any individual or group, it is the common home of Nepalis around the world, which can only be strengthened with the cooperation of all,” Shrestha said. Spokesperson Gangadhar Gautam said that the draft prepared under the leadership of Chairman Shrestha has clearly prepared a plan to hold the upcoming 12th general convention in a fair, transparent and credible manner. For this, he proposed to form a steering committee under the leadership of Chairman Shrestha and also to form MIS management committee and dispute resolution
committee.

Shrestha-led executive committee was elected through a convention organized by a high-level committee formed by the Supreme Court’s mandamus order. The agreement proposal also includes the provision of withdrawing all the cases that have been filed in the court regarding the legitimacy of NRNA. Spokesperson Gautam said that the strength of unity is now in the court of the KC side as the proposal has been approved by the working committee.

Pursuant to the mandamus order issued by the Hon’ble Supreme Court on April 3, 2024 in Writ No. 079-D2007, former President of the Association, Dr. The high-level committee formed under the coordination of Shesh Ghale will accept the working committee elected unanimously under the leadership of Mahesh Kumar Shrestha from the general convention held on May 3-4, 2025.
The 12th General Convention of the Non-Resident Nepali Association will be held within 6 months from the date of signing of the agreement. To form a steering committee to conduct the 12th General Convention in a transparent and credible manner and to run the regular offices. The committee shall form an election committee, election monitoring committee, membership and representative management committee and judicial committee as provided in the statute and working procedure.
