‘Jaun Hai Begnas Pokhara’ team reaches Thakurbaba of Bardiya

Bardia. Pokhara—A team of ‘Jau Hai Begnas Pokhara’ that left Pokhara on Sunday held discussions with tourism entrepreneurs of Thakurbaba municipality of Bardiya district on the issue of tourism partnership.
The three-TAG_OPEN_div_42 day program was organized by Hotel and Restaurant Association, Lekhnath with the support of Nepal Tourism Board and Pokhara Visit Year-2025.
The participants of the program organized at Thakurbaba Municipality with the facilitation of Eco-Tourism Development Forum, Thakurdwara stressed that tourism partnership between Begnas and Bardiya would benefit both as there is uniformity in eco-tourism and other sectors.TAG_OPEN_div_40
Thakurbaba Municipality Mayor Tilak Ram Lamsal stressed on the need for all three tiers of government to make policy reforms for the development of Thakurbaba Municipality.TAG_OPEN_div_38 Saying they were ready for tourism partnership with Pokhara, he expressed the view that tourism development of both the regions could be forwarded through mutual coordination.
Damodar Bhakta Thapa, co-coordinator of Pokhara Visit Year Work Execution Committee and advisor of Hotel and Restaurant Association, Lekhnath, said that they are working to explore tourism potential along with the view of the seven lakes including Begnas Lake in the Lekhnath area.TAG_OPEN_div_36
Stating that Begnas Lake and its surrounding areas are rich in biodiversity and have many possibilities for bird tourism, he expressed the view that such issues could be moved ahead collaboratively as such issues are similar to the tourism areas of Bardiya.TAG_OPEN_div_34 On the occasion, he presented audio-visual materials including Begnas and the local Taltalaiyas and tourist destinations.
Birbhadra Kandel, president of Hotel and Restaurant Association, Lekhnath, said that the Lekhnath area has tourism infrastructures such as football by looking at the mountains along with the lakes.TAG_OPEN_div_32 He urged the tourists coming to Bardiya to send tourists to Bardiya along with tourism activities and increase their income.

Krishna Prasad Bhattarai, chairperson of Eco-Tourism Development Forum, Bardiya, said Bardiya has become famous due to its national park.TAG_OPEN_div_26 He said that Pokhara is ready to join hands for tourism partnership with Pokhara as it has tourism potential.

Suresh TAG_OPEN_div_22 Lamichhane, general secretary of Hotel and Restaurant Association, Lekhnath, informed that the team will return to Pokhara after visiting the tourism destinations in Surkhet, the district headquarters of Karnali Province.
