Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepal Bar Association (NBA) has said its serious attention has been drawn to the decision of recalling the ambassador at the Supreme Court as the case was sub-judice at the Supreme Court.
Issuing a press release today, Bar Association General Secretary Kedar Prasad Koirala said, “Serious attention has been drawn to the government’s decision to recall the ambassadors concerned to work at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at a time when a case was sub-judice at the Supreme Court and an interim order was issued.”
“Failure to indirectly follow the court’s verdict or order promotes arbitrariness,” reads the statement, “We appeal to all concerned not to do anything that can hurt the faith of the court.” ’
“It is the duty of all to abide by the verdict or order, whether directly or indirectly, even if it is possible to have a healthy, academic discussion on the court’s verdict or order,” the Bar said.
“To draw a result contrary to the court order directly or indirectly on the basis of the constitutional provisions, constitutionalism, concept of independent judiciary and the Article 128 (4) of the constitution is not only disobedience of the court order but also weakens the rule of law,” the statement reads. ’
