Kathmandu. The High-Level Investigation Commission (HPROC) formed to probe the Janji agitation on September 7 and 24 has recorded statements from Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane.

The CIAA took Lamichhane’s statement from Nakkhu Jail to Singha Durbar for about 7 hours on Wednesday.

The CIAA has recorded the statement of Lamichhane in connection with the incident of Lamichhane being released from Nakkhu Jail during the Zenji movement. The commission has already recorded statements from the chief of Nakkhu Prison. The jail chief is said to have given a statement that he was forced to sign the papers.

More than 14,000 prisoners escaped from prisons across the country after Lamichhane was released from jail.

Lamichhane, who was in Nakkhu jail for further investigation, was released on September 24. Lamichhane returned to jail on September 28 after facing criticism from all sides.
