Kathmandu. Also speaking on the occasion, Minister for Communications and Information Technology Jagadish Kharel said that Global ICT Leadership Forum was fruitful for Nepal. Addressing the 11th Global ICT Leadership Forum held in Seoul, Republic of Korea on Wednesday, Minister Poudel said that the Leadership Forum for Digital Nepal and Digital Transformation was fruitful and fruitful.

He says, “Digital Leadership Forum has been very successful and it has been fruitful to move forward as Digital Nepal based on the concept of Digital Nepal in the coming days and to make Nepal AI-friendly Nepal.” ’

Minister Kharel said that Nepal has been working in a structured way by formulating a policy on digital and AI transformation. “Nepal has formulated AI policies especially in the context of digital and AI transformation. A National AI Center has come into operation and an AI Council is also being formed. The Forum has been informed about the draft of the roadmap for Digital Nepal. ’

According to Minister Kharel, the forum has proposed to collaborate with the Korean government, the World Bank and various other partner institutions on behalf of the Nepal government in the coming days. He also agreed to work together and partner with the Government of Korea for digital and AI transformation in the days ahead, especially from the Korean government and the World Bank.

Minister Kharel said, “Partnership on digital and AI means to enhance the capacity of various economic partnerships, to partner in ‘exposure visit’, ‘knowledge sharing’ and to help Nepal in the coming days.” ’

Minister Kharel also put forth his views on Nepal’s priorities, upcoming collaboration and partnership with partner organizations. On the occasion, the Korean government and National Information Society Agency (NIA) also held consultations on how to collaborate with Nepal.

Nepal’s Ambassador to South Korea, Dr Shiva Maya Tumbahamphe, among others were present in the Forum. Minister Kharel left for South Korea on Tuesday to participate in the Forum. The ICT Leadership Forum was jointly organized by the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) of Korea and the National Information Society Agency (NIA). Minister Kharel is accompanied by his personal secretary Uddhav Bhattarai.

There will be two sessions on Digital and AI Transformation: Strategies and Challenges and Global Cooperation for Sustainable Digital Future. The forum on ‘Digital and AI Transformation: SDGs and Achieving Sustainable Global Future’ is attended by Ministers from Nepal, advisors to Prime Minister, government representatives, and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia Pacific and other international organizations. Minister Kharel is scheduled to return home on November 13.
