Kathmandu. The Election Commission of Nepal (EC) has made public the election schedule for the House of Representatives Election 2082 scheduled for March 4.

As per the decision of today’s meeting of the EC, the election programme for the first-past-the-post electoral system and proportional representation system for the election to the member of the House of Representatives scheduled for March 4 has been made public in the Commission’s website and in the Nepal Gazette.

As per the election schedule, the candidacy papers would be registered at the office of the returning officer from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on January 20, 2002 and the list of candidates would be published from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on the same day.

The deadline for filing complaints against the candidates will be from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm on January 21 and the same time will be held from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm on January 22 and the list of candidates will be published from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on January 22.

The withdrawal of candidacy can be done from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on January 22 while the final list of candidates will be published from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on the same day and symbols will be allotted to the candidates from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Similarly, the election programme under the proportional representation system would be held from 2082-08-20 BS. According to the programme, the political parties that want to participate in the PR election would submit their applications from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on December 7, the names of the political parties that had submitted their applications from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on December 9 and the closed list of candidates would be published from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on December 24 and the closed list of candidates would be published from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on February 24. The voting will take place from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm on March 4 at the respective polling centres.
