Kathmandu. The Department of Passport has informed that the passport service will be simplified in a week or two.

Issuing a public notice this evening, the Department clarified that the service would be smoothed within the next 1-2 weeks after making efforts from all bodies concerned including the Department for the interim management.

The department said it had to make some cuts in the distribution of passports in recent days as an interim measure.

The Department has said that the tendency of cheating service seekers coming to the Department for passport by luring them with various temptations has surfaced and so far 15 suspects have been arrested and sent to Nepal Police for necessary action after investigation.

“We request you to be aware of the possible fraud in any pretext and to contact us through any of the following means if you are found carrying out any suspicious activities,” the department said. The department has stated that it is ready to provide simple, smooth and quick service to the service seekers and to resolve the passport related problems immediately.
