Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepal Police has issued a seven-point request to the people concerned to avoid the increasing number of fraudsters online. The Kathmandu District Police Range has issued a seven-point request to avoid online fraud by issuing a public notice.
Spokesperson of the Range, Pawan Kumar Bhattarai, said that the notice has been issued to make people aware that people are found to be swindled by money due to lure. According to him, people have been urged to be aware of the possibility of fraud by sending money through social networking sites like Facebook, Emo, WhatsApp, Viber, Instagram and other means saying that you have won the lottery, you have to pay some amount (revenue) to receive the amount.
In the public notice, it has been requested to be safe to pay only with the authenticity of the seller while purchasing the goods online and paying the payment. Spokesperson Bhattarai said, “Be cautious as there is a risk of blackmailing and asking for money by recording the call by recording the call from an unknown person or number.” ”
According to him, if his friends and relatives have asked for financial help by showing the problem through various social networks, they have been requested to help only by contacting him directly. He said that it is necessary to be cautious as the account can be ‘hacked’ at that time.
It has also been requested to pay attention to the possibility of fraud by sending advance money by showing goods at cheap rates through social networks and other online mediums.
Similarly, the police have urged not to open any links of unknown or new social networks, not to share their OTP code to others, not to give screen of their mobile to anyone, not to keep their important information on social networking sites and not to share personal details including their password to friends or close relatives.
