Kathmandu. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has left for Sevilla, Spain, leading a 21-member delegation to participate in the 4th International Conference on Finance for Development to be held in Spain from July 19 to 29.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development Prakash Man Singh, Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Badri Prasad Pandey and Chief Secretary Ek Narayan Aryal saw pm Oli off at the VVIP lounge of Tribhuvan International Airport. High-ranking government officials and chiefs of security agencies were present at the airport to see off the Prime Minister.
He left here this afternoon at the friendly invitation of UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez for the International Conference on Financing for development of United Nations (FFD-40).
Heads of government, representatives of global and regional organizations, financial and business organizations, businessmen, civil society and UN agencies will participate in the conference. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nepal will present its views on the development challenges of the least developed, small and island countries in the conference. The conference will focus on reducing immediate and long-term investment challenges for sustainable development. During his stay in Spain, PM Oli is scheduled to hold separate meetings with his counterparts and heads of state from different countries.
Pm Oli is also scheduled to pay a courtesy call on King PhilipPE II of Spain and hold a meeting with his Spanish counterpart Sanchez. Prime Minister’s spouse Radhika Shakya, Pm’s Chief Advisor Bishnu Prasad Rimal, Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Amrit Bahadur Rai, Secretary at the Ministry of Finance Ghanashyam Upadhyay, Secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers Raj Kumar Shrestha, among others, are in the delegation.
Prime Minister Oli is scheduled to return home on Friday afternoon.
