Myagdi. Myagdi: The Gandaki state government has added four road upgrade plans in Myagdi in the fiscal year 2081/82 BS. A contract worth Rs 600 million has been signed with various construction companies for the implementation of projects related to upgradation of one road in partnership with the federal government and three with the investment of the state government.
Bishnu Prasad Poudel, chief of the Infrastructure Development Office, informed that the project has entered the construction phase after completing the contract process related to upgrading four roads and constructing one suspension bridge. According to him, the construction of these projects will start soon after the rainy season.
Darwang-Muna-Dhorpatan road
Sakchyam/Simran JV and Infrastructure Development Office have signed a contract for upgrading the Darwang-Muna-Dhorpatan road connecting Malika rural municipality centre Darwang to Dhawalagiri rural municipality centre Muna in partnership with gandaki state and federal government at a cost of Rs 528.053 million. Darwang-Dharapani (7 km) and Jhindanda-Muna (4 km) will be blacktopped and sloped by oxfault technology.
Resham Bahadur Jugjali, a provincial assembly member elected from Myagdi constituency no. 1920, said that this road is considered to be an alternative to baglung section of mid-hill highway, which is 70 kilometers short for the people of Mangala, Malika and Dhawalagiri rural municipalities as well as Dhorpatan and East Rukum of Baglung.
Bhagwati-Beg Road
A contract agreement has been signed with Himalayan Construction for upgrading the Road leading to Beg via Galeshwor-Piple-Bhagwati of Raghuganga Rural Municipality and Bhagwati-Sijalgaun-Sajhpani-Bayarigaun-Beg road. Hari Bahadur Bhandari, a provincial assembly member elected from Myagdi constituency no. 1910, said that the project will lead to one kilometer 400 meters slope and premix blacktopping from the last point of the road upgraded by the state government at Bhagwati.
Room-Tarakhola road
Myagdi: A contract agreement has been signed with Somras Construction Service for the implementation of Rum-Tarakhola road project of Malika Rural Municipality-2 under Myagdi constituency-1 (2). The project, which has been contracted at a cost of Rs 21.13 million, is to construct 700 meters of road.
Galeshwar-Pulashram road
BbPL BS DS Dhawalagiri has been selected for upgrading the motorway road from Ghatan-9 Galeshwor Temple to Pulashram Temple Jagannath Temple to Beni Bazar district headquarters. Two kilometers of slope and gravel is going to be constructed at different places of Beni Municipality-9 under the road connecting Galeshwor of Beni Municipality-9 to another religious place Pulashram at a cost of Rs 22.346 million.
Sawata-Thapachaur suspension bridge
A contract has been signed for the construction of a suspension bridge over myagdi river connecting Thapachaur of Malika Rural Municipality-5 and Sabata settlements of Ward No. 6. The contract for the construction of the 96-meter long suspension bridge was signed with the Infrastructure Development Office and the contractor company Someras Construction Service at a cost of Rs 3.9 million.
The state government had signed a contract worth Rs 677.8 million for the construction of seven roads and two motorable bridges in Myagdi in the fiscal year 2080/81 BS. A road and a motorable bridge are under construction in the previous year.
