Myagdi. A 365-metre-long suspension bridge has been constructed at Marangkhola of Dhawalagiri rural municipality-6. Local Infrastructure Development Project Kaski, Pokhara under the Ministry of Urban Development has constructed the bridge connecting Ghairibot and Khauribang. Rajaram Subedi, ward chair of Dhawalagiri rural municipality-6, informed that the bridge has benefited the residents of Dhaulagiri-6, Ward-5, Malkwang and Malika Rural Municipality-7, Bim.
“Residents of Arbang and Ghantiwang have been shortened to reach the ward office, health post and public development secondary school in Marang,” he said, adding, “The residents of Arwang, Ghantiwang and Rikh have to walk for about an hour to reach the ward office, health post and secondary school.” ’
The construction company of Beni Municipality-2 had signed a contract for the construction of the bridge at a cost of Rs 25 million in June 2081. Pradeep Sapkota, director of the construction company, said that the construction of the bridge was completed within 12 months.
A 366-metre-long suspension bridge has also been constructed at Darkhola of Dhawalagiri rural municipality-3 this year through the Local Infrastructure Development Project, Kaski. The number of suspension bridges over 300 meters in Myagdi, including two constructed this year, has reached six.
Similarly, 365.80 meters long bridge has been constructed at Begkhola connecting Beg and Baduk of Raghuganga Rural Municipality-1, 350 meters connecting Malika-7 Bimwang and Dhawalagiri-6 Rikh, 388 meters connecting Ratnechaur of Beni Municipality-1 and Kudule of Baglung Municipality-4 and 344 meters long bridge connecting Sikh and Kindu of Annapurna Rural Municipality-5.
