Kathmandu. CpN (Maoist Centre) Chairman and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has termed the incumbent government as a government that fears good governance and accused it of being indifferent to controlling corruption.

He said that since the formation of the government, people-oriented programs initiated by the previous government have been interfered with and investigation files are being closed.

Addressing a meeting of the federal parliament on Monday, Chairman Dahal said, “I had said at that time that this government was formed due to the fear of good governance. That fear of good governance persists to this day. The same fear led to the merger of the two big parties, and now with that fear, the government is protecting the corrupt. ’

“Corruption files are being closed,” he said, adding that since the formation of the government, the investigation into corruption initiated by the previous government has been weakened and stopped. Corruption is on the rise. Money laundering activities are on the rise. And how does the country come out of the grey list?”

Chairman Dahal said the government should take serious and effective steps to get out of the list of intensive monitoring on money laundering. “Effective measures taken to curb money laundering can lead to a significant increase in revenue, but the government’s moves and actions seem to be the exact opposite,” he said. ’

Making serious allegations against the government over the rights of the Dalit community, Chairman Dahal said, “They killed the revolutionary thinking of establishing an empowered Dalit Development Authority. There was untouchability in the society, but your budget also touched the Dalits. ’

Accusing the government of discriminating against the youth, he said the budget of Rs 3 billion allocated for mobilizing at least 100,000 youths under the ‘Youth Mobilization Programme for Nation Building’ has been frozen. “The budget for startup entrepreneurship has been reduced by almost one-third,” he said.

He said that the government’s priority was not to build a self-reliant economy such as cannabis cultivation and management and branding of domestic liquor with regulation for medicinal purposes. He said the government should be serious as such programmes would help in employment generation and development of production system.
