Kathmandu. CpN (Maoist Centre) Chairman and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, who is also the leader of the main opposition party in parliament, has said that the government is wherever it is.

Giving examples of landless squatters in particular, he said, “The government led by me had initiated the homework of issuing land ownership certificates to 500,000 landless squatters in this fiscal year, but the present government with the arrogance of two-thirds could not do anything except remove the office-bearers of the Land Commission.” ’

“Your ministers are openly dealing with millions of rupees in transfers and appointment of commission officials,” Prachanda said sarcastically to the Prime Minister, “Your ministers are openly dealing with millions of rupees, prime minister, where will you give a statement to Chitragupta?”

He also accused the government of trying to overshadow the official machinery of the state by creating corruption, division, politicisation, and middlemen structures. “Where there is a government, there is corruption and irregularities,” he said, adding that disputes have been created everywhere where the Prime Minister goes abroad.

Former Prime Minister Dahal claimed that the prime minister’s statement that he would not indulge in corruption and would not allow it to happen was considered fake by the general public and on the contrary, the government’s actions have proved it.

“Last year, I had said that good governance and constitution implementation are not the priority of the government. The government was created in a dark room to serve the interests of middlemen. Even today, the prime minister and ministers are busy in the same work. ’

Expressing dissatisfaction over the working style of the government, he said the issues of livelihood, good governance, social justice and economic prosperity were like threats to power. “The government has set a world record in protecting itself on the same issue and making the opposition a victim of political vendetta,” he said.
