Kathmandu. Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Finance, Sevtak Pokharel, has been sworn in as the chairman of Nepal Insurance Authority (INSURANCEA). Pokharel took oath before Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Monday had decided to appoint Joint Secretary Pokharel as the chairman of the Board of Directors of the Insurance Authority until further arrangements are made.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers had formed a three-member inquiry committee under the chairmanship of former High Court judge Krishna Giri in accordance with sub-section 2 of Section 12 of the Insurance Act 2079 BS. After the formation of the inquiry committee, Ojha was automatically suspended.

Meanwhile, committee chairman Giri, members Jeevan Prakash Sitaula and Kapil Dev Oli received the letter today.
