Kathmandu. Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation, Balram Adhikari, has directed the newly appointed chairman of the National Cooperative Regulatory Authority (NRA), the regulatory body of the cooperative sector, to work in a way to improve the irregularities in the cooperative sector.
Minister Adhikari said this while administering the oath of office to newly appointed Chairman of NRA Dr Khagaraj Sarma at the Ministry. Minister Adhikari believes that the problems seen in the cooperative sector will be resolved with the formation of the second level regulatory body (STI) to regulate the cooperative sector, which has been demanded by the stakeholders of the cooperative sector for a long time.
Minister Adhikari said that the task of regulating, directing and monitoring the cooperatives of the three levels was within the purview of the NRA.
Minister Adhikari said that such structures formed at present, including the Debt Recovery Tribunal and the Regulatory Authority, should work according to the spirit and targeted objectives of the cooperatives.
Minister Adhikari administered the oath of office and secrecy to the newly appointed chairman. Khagaraj Sharma has taken charge from today.
