Six arrested with more than 15 tola gold ornaments in Kohalpur

Nepalgunj. Police have arrested six persons with 15 tolas of 25 red gold ornaments and Rs 787,000 in cash stolen from India.

Acting on a tip-off that they were staying at Hotel New Kalikote in Kohalpur after stealing gold ornaments and cash from India, a team led by Police Inspector Resham Lal Poudel arrested them.

The arrestees have been identified as Man Bahadur Shahi, 42, and Tej Bahadur Shahi, 42, of Raskot Municipality-1, Kalikot, Pankaj KC, 18, of Sanni Triveni Rural Municipality-8 in Kalikot, Prem Bahadur Khatri, 45, and Anita Khatri, 38, of Ward No. 8 of the same municipality, and Sarita Shahi, 28, of Naraharinath Rural Municipality-9, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police laxmi Khanal of the Area Police Office, Banke.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Khanal said that further investigation is underway after extending the remand of those arrested on Monday from the District Court, Banke.
