Kathmandu. At present, the influence of monsoon winds is prevailing across the country and the low pressure area around Uttar Pradesh, India. According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, the low pressure line of the monsoon is around the average place.

The weather will be generally cloudy throughout the country today with chances of light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning at a few places of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudur Paschim provinces.

According to the Division, heavy rainfall is likely to occur at one or two places of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Light to moderate rain and snowfall is likely to occur at some places of the high hilly and mountainous regions of the country. There is a possibility of wind storm in some places of Lumbini and Tarai region of Sudurpaschim province.

Stating that there is a risk of floods, landslides and landslides due to the possible rainfall, the Division has urged the general public of these areas to be cautious as there is a risk of inundation in the urban and Tarai areas. The general public and all concerned bodies have been requested to take necessary precautions and make preparations as the water level in large and small rivers and rivulets may rise, affecting daily life, agriculture, health, tourism, roads and air transport around the river areas.
