Sankranti festival being celebrated across the country today

Kathmandu. According to the solar month, the festival of Saune (Karkat) Sankranti, which is celebrated every year on July 15, is being celebrated across the country today by bathing, donating and gathering relatives.

There is an ancient tradition of celebrating the first day of the sun entering cancer after completing the enjoyment of Gemini as Saune Sankranti across the country today. Since the sun moves through the south since Mid-July, Dakshinayan begins from today. Uttarayan, which begins on January 15, and Dakshinayan, which begins on July 15, are specially celebrated.

The month of Saun is also considered as a month to be celebrated by worshiping Lord Shiva. Women wear clothes including green bangles and show that they are close to nature. Green clothes and bangles are sold more in the month of Saun. Many women wear green and red clothes this month.
