Kathmandu. Heavy to very heavy rainfall has been recorded in different parts of the country in the last 12 hours. According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Lumle of Kaski received the highest rainfall of 151 mm in the last 12 hours.
Similarly, Dhankuta received 121 mm rainfall, Sunsari 130 mm and Ilam Maipokhari 121 mm. According to the Department, heavy rainfall has been recorded at these four places. Many other districts received heavy rainfall.
Meteorologist At the Meteorological Forecasting Division of the Department, Sanjeev Adhikari, said that the system of heavy rainfall in the central and western regions has been moving. He said that this situation will remain till tomorrow and it will gradually disappear.
According to meteorologist Adhikari, the influence of monsoon winds is prevailing across the country at present. The low pressure line of monsoon is slightly north of the average place. Due to this, the rainfall system has been developed in Nepal.
Sindhupalchowk, Kaski, Parbat, Okhaldhunga, Taplejung, Panchthar, Tanahun, Khotang, Solukhumbu, Sankhuwasabha, Tehrathum, Myagdi and Jhapa have also received heavy rainfall in the last 24 hours. Heavy rainfall has also occurred in the hilly areas of some other hilly districts.
According to the Flood Forecasting Division, people living along the banks of the river have been requested to take precautions as the current water level at the Modikhola Water Measurement Centre in Parbat district is rising around the alert level.
Similarly, the water level at Kankai Mainachuli in Ilam reached around the alert level in the morning. The water level in The Sardul Rivulet of Sunsari had also crossed the alert level. At the Budhikhola Duhabi Water Measurement Centre in Sunsari at 1.20 am, the siren went off after the water level crossed the danger level.
