Kathmandu. The Ministry of Home Affairs has deputed 45 branch officers who have recently passed the Public Service Commission to the Immigration Office at Tribhuvan International Airport from today.
Director General of the Department of Immigration, Govinda Rijal, said that chief joint secretary narahari Ghimire and 45 new branch officers have been deployed at the airport since Monday.
“The department has deputed the officers who came from the civil service to the airport immigration from today after a three-day training,” he said. ’
Ghimire, who started as the chief of immigration at the airport, is a joint secretary who has served as the spokesperson of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority( CIAA). A few days ago, the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration had sent the names of 45 officers to the Home Ministry.
Similarly, the Ministry of Home Affairs has said that 45 branch officers have been deputed in immigration and the same number of branch officers have been transferred to the ministry. Suresh Joshi, deputy secretary at the Administration Division at the Ministry of Home Affairs, said, “If the officers who come from the airport are adjusted in the ministry, they will be sent out through the Ministry of General Administration.” ’
He said that the ministry will appoint officers only according to the vacancy. Similarly, the government has formed a high-level study and investigation committee under the coordination of former Chief Secretary Shankar Das Bairagi to solve the problems related to immigration and visit visa.
The committee has been mandated to submit a short and long-term action plan for policy, legal and structural reforms to solve the problems seen by conducting study analysis and fact-finding regarding the travel facilitation of the people coming abroad. The committee is currently working as per the mandate.
