Kathmandu. The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has arrested Purna Shankar Yadav, senior forest officer of Division Forest Office, Dhangadhi, Kailali.

Acting on a tip-off, a team from the Commission’s Kanchanpur office arrested Yadav on the basis of information that he had demanded bribe from the service seekers for the release and release of timber from the ghatgaddi of Gwasi Community Forest at Chure rural municipality-6.

The division forest office arrested Yadav with Rs 731,000 from his possession on Monday evening. Commission spokesperson Rajendra Kumar Poudel said further investigation was underway.
