Kathmandu. It is difficult to visit kusheshwar Mahadev temple, a famous religious place of Hindus located at the confluence of Sunkoshi and Roshi rivulets.
It has been difficult for the visitors to reach the temple after the flood in Roshi Rivulet washed away the humpipe on October 12 last year.
According to the Nepal Mahatmya of Himavat Purana, Kaushik Rishi had done penance in this area. On the other side of the Kusheshwar temple, there is also a place where Rishi Vishwamitra did penance on the banks of Sunkoshi. It is mentioned in the Shiva Purana that gayatri mantra originated from here.
Earlier, arrangements were made for pedestrians, including vehicles, to go to the temple by placing a humpipe in the Roshi river. However, after last year’s flood washed away the humpipe, there is no alternative to crossing Roshi to visit the temple. Even if there is a small rain, the flow of Roshi increases, so now fewer visitors have started coming to the temple.
Road traffic to Khandadevi, Doramba and Shailung of Ramechhap district via mid-hill highway has also been closed due to last year’s flood that washed away a concrete bridge over the Sunkoshi river. With the collapse of the bridge, the residents are now forced to go from Mulkot, about 15 kilometers down to Ramechhap. is.
