Rain in Kathmandu, no rain in Tarai today

Kathmandu. Several parts of the country, including Kathmandu, have received rainfall since Today. Heavy rainfall has been recorded in some places while heavy rainfall has occurred in many places. However, there has been no rain in the Terai region yet.

Meteorologist Devit Dhakal of the Meteorological Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology said that the weather is generally cloudy throughout the country at present. According to him, there has been little rainfall in the northern part of the Tarai. There was light rain in the southern region, but it was not enough, he said. He also said that the current system is not that big.

In the last six hours, Machhuaghat of Dhankuta received 42 mm rainfall, Arughat of Gorkha 42.2 mm, Lampatan of Kaski 44.8 mm and Gamgadhi Srinagar of Mugu 40.8 mm. It’s close to heavy rain. Kathmandu has received around 15 mm of moderate rainfall. Gorkha also received 41.6 mm rainfall in the last six hours.

In the last 12 hours, heavy rainfall has occurred in some parts of Ilam, Lamjung, Nuwakot and Sindhupalchowk. In the last 24 hours, Narpugaun of Sindhupalchowk recorded the highest rainfall of 127.4 mm and Triveni Measurement Center of Dhankuta recorded 112.8 mm rainfall. During the same period, 82.8 percent in Kathmandu and 86 in Nuwakot. According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, 2 mm rainfall has been recorded.

At present, there is the influence of monsoon wind across the country and the low pressure line of monsoon is around the average place in the west and towards the north of the average place in the east. According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, light rainfall is taking place at many places of Bagmati Province and Gandaki Province, at a few places of Koshi Province, Lumbini Province and Karnali Province and at one or two places of Madhes Province and Sudur Pashchim Province.

Heavy rainfall is likely to occur at one or two places of Bagmati Province, Gandaki Province and Lumbini Province during the next 24 hours.
