Karnali. The Ministry of Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives, which has focused itself on upgrading the agriculture sector of Karnali State, has averaged physical progress and achieved 69 percent financial achievement in the last fiscal year.
This information was given in the annual progress review held here on Wednesday. Kalikot Agriculture Development Office had made 96.69 percent financial progress in the same fiscal year. Under the interest subvention programme, Rs 1.44 billion has been invested through six banks and 535 agricultural entrepreneurs have benefited from it.
According to the information given on the occasion, 365 metric tons of ginger and turmeric were exported to Germany in the last fiscal year, 2,000 farmers have joined organic certification, irrigation services have been improved in 2,142 hectares through 747 small irrigation schemes and irrigation facilities have been extended to 900 hectares.
