Kathmandu. According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, it will be generally cloudy throughout the country today.

According to the Division, light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely to occur at many places of the hilly regions of Koshi, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudur Paschim provinces and at a few places of the Tarai region this afternoon.

Similarly, light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely to occur at many places of the hilly region and some parts of the Tarai province including Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces tonight. There is a possibility of heavy rainfall at some places of the hilly region of Bagmati Province.

The Division has urged all concerned to remain alert as there is a risk of soil erosion, flooding and erosion due to possible rainfall, inundation in urban and Tarai areas and rising water level in large and small rivers and rivulets. It has also urged the general public and all concerned bodies to be cautious and prepared as excessive rainfall may affect daily life, agriculture, health, tourism, construction, road and air transport.
