Siraha. Police have arrested nine persons from Kamalpur of Aurahi rural municipality-4 with a huge quantity of marijuana. Acting on a specific information, the police raided them around 4 am and arrested them.
District Police Office Chief and Superintendent of Police Anantaram Sharma said the arrestees include five porters, a recce worker, two Indian nationals who had come to buy marijuana.
The deceased have been identified as Jayaram Joshi, 42, Shiva Kumar Sada, 30, Krishna Sada, 22, Suraj Sada, 18, and Pashupati Sada, 17. The deceased have been identified as Rajendra Yadav, 42, of Aurahi rural municipality-3 and Jeevchha Sah, 32, of Golbazar municipality-1, Maksar.
Similarly, Dharmesh Kumar Kamati, 30, and Baidyanath Chaudhary, 39, of Kumarkhad Gram Panchayat-14 in Madhubani district have come to buy indian nationals. Police also recovered Rs 45,000 from Chaudhary.
Superintendent of Police Sharma said that the marijuana was kept in five sacks and hidden in the mango orchard. Initially, the porters were found carrying marijuana, but the rest of the group was found with marijuana while they were being searched. Investigation is underway against the arrested persons in a drug-related case, police said.
