Mahottari. The Narcotics Control Bureau branch at Bardibas has seized drugs worth Rs 30 million in the last fiscal year.
According to the Bureau, various drugs worth this amount were seized in the last fiscal year 2081/82 BS. Bureau chief Sub-Inspector Saroj Adhikari said that 55 people have been arrested in this connection and 16 vehicles used in drug trafficking have been seized.
The highest amount of 15.14 quintals of cannabis was seized during this period. Six persons have been arrested in connection with the seizure of marijuana and three minitrucks and three jeeps have been seized. The estimated value of the seized marijuana is Rs 1.99 crore.
Similarly, 854 grams of ‘Infredin’ drug was seized during the period. Five persons, including three women and two men, have been arrested. According to the bureau, the estimated value of this drug is Rs 68 lakh 32 thousand.
In the last fiscal year, 549.85 grams of brown heroin drug was seized. A total of 39 people, including three women, have been arrested in connection with the smuggling. Two of them are foreign nationals. Four motorcycles and two ambulances used to smuggle heroin drugs have been seized. Its estimated price is Rs 46.73 lakh.
A total of 3,144 drug-related ampoules have been seized. Two persons have been arrested along with ampoule and two motorcycles have been seized. The estimated price of these ampoules will be Rs 1.28 million.
According to the Bureau, 364 bottles of codeine mixed drug syrup were seized during the period. Three people have been arrested in this connection. Two motorcycles used to transport the drug have been seized. It is estimated to cost Rs 273,000.
According to the Bureau, drugs worth Rs 29.95 million were seized in the last fiscal year. The bureau recovered the drug during an investigation conducted in Mahottari, Dhanusha, Sarlahi and Sindhuli districts.
