Three main roads blocked in Gulmi due to landslide in Kanauta

Gulmi. Three main roads in Gulmi have been blocked since last night due to incessant rain. Information Officer at the District Police Office, Gulmi, Ganga Bahadur Saru, said the Kaligandaki corridor, Ridi-Tamghas and Ridi-Wamitaksar roads have been blocked since Sunday night.

The road has been completely obstructed due to landslides at Gargare of Kaligandaki Rural Municipality-1, Milk of Ward-2 and Kanauta of Ward-3. According to the District Police Office, Gulmi, landslide occurred at Salleri of Rurukshetra rural municipality-3 along the Ridi-Tamghas road section due to incessant rain.

Information Officer at the District Police Office, Gulmi, Saru, said that the road has been completely blocked since last night due to floods and landslides at Dahare Khola of Satyawati rural municipality-6 and Badrebhir of ward-5.

According to the District Police Office, Gulmi, it is difficult to restore the obstructed road until the rain stops due to continuous rain in the area. People of kaligandaki corridor and Ridi-Wamitaksar road have been facing problems due to frequent closures. The water level in Badigad rivulet is also rising due to incessant rains.

The District Administration Office, Gulmi, has urged the people living along the banks of the rivulet to remain alert and settle in safe places. The District Disaster Management Committee Gulmi has placed more than 200 places in the district at high risk of floods and landslides.
