Gulmi and Palpa roads blocked due to landslide in Bakhrebhir

Gulmi. The Ridi-Tamghas road along the Madanbhandari Highway has been closed due to landslides triggered by incessant rainfall. According to rural municipality chair Yadu Gyawali, the road has been obstructed due to landslide at Bakhrebhir of Rurukshetra rural municipality-3.

Work is underway to widen the Ridi-Tamghas road section TAG_OPEN_div_23. Similarly, kaligandaki corridor, Ridi-Wamitaksar and Ridi-Khajyang roads, which have been blocked since this morning, have come into operation, said Information Officer at the District Police Office and Deputy Superintendent of Police Ganga Bahadur Saru.

Gulmi and surrounding areas TAG_OPEN_div_21 have been experiencing continuous rainfall for the past three days. The District Administration Office has urged the people living in the coastal areas to remain alert as the risk of floods and landslides may increase.

Palpa-Butwal section blocked

The Palpa-Butwal road section along the Siddhartha Highway has been obstructed due to landslides TAG_OPEN_div_17. Landslides have occurred at various places along this road section.

Chief TAG_OPEN_div_15 of the District Traffic Office, Praveen Acharya, said that the road has been completely blocked since Monday evening due to landslides with stones at three places in Siddhababa area. The landslide occurred near Dobhan police post of Tinau rural municipality-3. It has become difficult to clear the landslide due to continuous rain.

Although one-way vehicle TAG_OPEN_div_13 s were brought into operation after clearing the landslide on Monday, the road has been obstructed again since last night. Vehicles from Syangja, Pokhara, Baglung, Gulmi, Arghakhanchi and other places have been stranded on the road. The District Administration Office has urged everyone to remain alert as the risk of landslides and falling stones continues in different places.
