Hetauda. Newly appointed Chief Minister of Bagmati Province, Indra Bahadur Baniya, has taken oath of office and secrecy.

Province Chief Deepak Prasad Devkota administered the oath of office and secrecy to Baniya, who was appointed as the sixth Chief Minister of Bagmati province on Tuesday afternoon. Devkota had appointed Baniya as the chief minister today.

Baniya, who is also the president of the Bagmati Province Committee of the Nepali Congress, had staked claim to form a joint government of the Nepali Congress and the CPN-UML on Monday. He has the support of 64 lawmakers including Nepali Congress and CPN-UML in the 110-member State Assembly.
