Surkhet. In Karnali Province, 96 percent of the sowing has been completed. According to the Directorate of Agricultural Development, Karnali State, out of 41,042 hectares of paddy cultivable land in the state, 39,594.9 hectares have been sown.
According to Tilak Prasad Pandey, acting director of the Directorate, Jumla, Humla and Dolpa have planted 100 per cent of the 10 districts of the province. Sowing has been completed on 2,890 hectares in Jumla, 585 hectares in Humla and 198 hectares in Dolpa.
In four districts, the sowing has reached around 99 percent. Jajarkot has the highest number of 99. Salyan, Mugu and Rukum West have completed 99 per cent sowing. Sowing has been completed in 2,623 hectares out of 2,645 hectares in Jajarkot and 6,072 hectares out of 6,134 hectares in Salyan. Of the 2,462 hectares in Kalikot, 98 per cent or 2,412 hectares have been sown.
Surkhet, which has the highest paddy cultivation in the state, has recorded 95 per cent sowing. Of the total 14,921 hectares in Surkhet, sowing has been completed on 14,174.95 hectares. Of the total 7,620 hectares in Dailekh, 7,086.6 hectares have been sown.
