Minister Dahal directs to move ahead with budget and programmes

Kathmandu. Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Devendra Dahal has directed the employees to implement the budget and programmes for the current fiscal year.

Addressing the progress review programme of the last fiscal year organized by the Department of Roads here today, Minister Dahal directed the officials concerned to implement the budget and programmes immediately without thinking about what will be done in a hurry.

Stating that the purpose of making the budget public one and a half months before the start of the fiscal year was to make it easier to move ahead with the implementation process with the beginning of the fiscal year, he directed the officials to start the work immediately and achieve high results.

“There is also a tradition of increasing the amount of budget implementation by working in haste towards the end of the fiscal year,” said Minister Dahal, adding, “Effective results do not come out by not starting the work on time and after passing, effective results will not come out in haste. ’

Minister Dahal said that the work and results of the Department of Roads would have an important meaning in the performance and results of the entire Ministry as the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport is the main part of making the citizens feel the development. Instructing to end the delay in the projects and projects initiated, he stressed that there would be no hindrance in the plans to be started now.

Not compromising quality

Minister Dahal said that no agreement can be made to make any infrastructure construction fast, fast and quality. “There was no sub-standard work in the name of speed and there was no delay in maintaining quality,” he said. There is a need to balance time and quality. He also directed to mobilize resources, human resources and equipment so that roads and traffic are not disrupted as the rainy season has already started.

Secretary at the Ministry Keshav Kumar Sharma directed that no project would be allowed to fall sick. Reminding that the management of sick projects was the priority of the Ministry, he urged the government to pay attention to the management of the remaining sick projects.

In the last fiscal year, the ministry had made the highest capital expenditure in the last six years. According to the Ministry, 76.41 percent progress has been made in the fiscal year 2081/82 BS, the highest in six years.

Similarly, Director General of the Department of Roads, Dr Bijay Jaisi, said that there would be no delay in the process of implementing the policies and programmes included in the budget. According to him, the department is active to start the work immediately so that there is no pressure at the end of the year and work in such a way that the results will be achieved quickly.

According to the Department of Roads, the mechanism has been mobilized so that the road will not be obstructed as much as possible during the rainy season and to open it as soon as possible even if it is obstructed.
